Carparking is a recurring issue voiced by HPRS members to the committee, and one we would like to think collectively about addressing.
When Hobsonville Point was designed, it was assumed residents would park their cars in their garages/carports where available. A quick tour of our local streets shows that this is not always the case and some creative carparking is often the result. Recently, Auckland Transport has tightened parking around the Brickworks Apartments through the introduction of two-hour time restrictions. Please note the new P120 signs if you are parking on parts of Hobsonville Point Road, De Havilland Road and Baffin Street.
With everyone impacted by this issue and more changes coming, we welcome your ideas on how to solve the parking shortage. Please email us with your suggestions.
In the meantime, have you considered:
– installing a garage storage system to free up floor space for your car? We would love anyone with a well-designed garage to share their ideas and inspiration on how to make the space work.
– using a car alarm system to safeguard your vehicle if parked outside?
