Join us for a nature themed event to kick off 2020 and take a slide down the Pied Shag Bird and shared picnic at Harrier Point Park on Thursday January 9 from 2 – 4pm.
This is a great opportunity to re-group after the festive celebrations to meet and connect with locals. Starting from 2pm please bring a plate for a shared community picnic and your picnic blanket. We’ll have fruit, there’ll be books hanging from the trees, create your own rock art, and music to enjoy.
If you are going on the slide it’s 10metres high so adults will need to accompany younger kids down the slide, and please don’t wear white. The nearest toilet is at Catalina Bay.
Become a Kiwi Conservation Reporter at our event and become inspired by your time at the park. Write a story (or draw) then submit it to Forest & Bird. See here for more details. https://kcc.org.nz/kcc-reporters/
OR even better start talking with your neighbours about how we could collaborate on the Earthshot prize. https://time.com/5757709/prince-william-earthshot-prize/
This event is produced by HPRS Committee and free for all residents to enjoy.
Harrier Point Park is located at the bottom of Launch Road. Head up the steps either by Bomb Point Park entrance or on Launch Road.
