As Hobsonville Point continues to grow and develop, new communal facilities are regularly being made available for us all to enjoy.
The former Rifle Range, which was once used for rifle shooting and target practice, is now home to a stage area, terraced seating, public toilets and a table tennis table. Communal games and outdoor furniture are also stored onsite. It is located on the Coastal Walkway along Bomb Point Drive and will be managed by Auckland Council.
Meanwhile, the long-awaited water play park has opened on the corner of Onekiritea and Tuatua Roads in the Catalina Precinct. It is already proving popular with children, young and old. Just remember your gumboots!
We are also looking forward to the opening of Harrier Point Park, at the seaward end of Launch Road above the Estuarine sculpture, which is expected later this year. This park, which has stunning water views, will feature a large lawn area, a gas barbeque, public exercise equipment and play equipment for children, including a flying fox and large swing.
