Roll up on July 26 at the Hobsonville Primary School Hall at 7.15pm to get a feel for what it might be like to be a member of the Hobsonville Choir.
This is the fifth Auckland community choir started by Melonie Roberts and Kate Bell, the two keen musicians who run things at www.thechoir.co.nz.
It’ll be an all-comers choir (no auditions) open to everyone 16 and over. There’s no cost on the first night – it’s about getting an idea of what will be involved – but there’ll be a $100 per-term fee for those who are keen to continue. And you get the chance to perform two or three times a year.
The choir at Stonefields is 100-strong. Melonie says it’s too early to gauge interest here, but she says the idea is to ‘build communities through singing to inspire confidence for life’.
