Seven candidates standing for the Upper Harbour electorate will be at HQ, 214 Buckley Avenue, 3 pm-4.30pm, August 16, to tell us what they stand for and answer locals’ questions.
A small team of local volunteers is creating this event. It’s one of four meetings happening across the Upper Harbour electorate, initiated by Upper Harbour Local Board member Nicholas Mayne. The events are not Council driven however – Nick’s doing this of his own accord as a way to help people with their voting decisions. Local resident Lindsey Dawson will be the MC for the lively discussions.
The series of debates will have a slightly different focus for the first segment (in our case, it’s transport) but questions on all topics are welcome. The meeting will be streamed into an overflow room if the main space fills up. We’re hoping candidates will be able to linger afterwards for one-on-one time. Overall, the idea is to run a lively, fair and impartial debate.
