Come Fly With Me, 2017
This year’s Come Fly With Me festival built on the success of previous years, with about 400 local students involved in the day.
The annual festival was held at Te Onekiritea Point/Bomb Point on Sunday 9 April. After weeks of heavy rain, the sun shone on the giant kites and the many activity stalls.
This year, HLC and The Open Fort teamed up with the Hobsonville Point Secondary School to put on the event and a huge variety of activities and entertainment were available to keep everyone amused. About 400 students were involved in designing, creating and delivering flight themed activities, games and displays. Peter Clark was also onsite with his giant 3D kites alongside food trucks from around Auckland.
