Coming soon, the best-ever slide in Auckland will open soon at Harrier Point Park above Launch Road. This long-awaited pied shag sculpture has arrived at Harrier Point, off Launch Road. Commissioned by HLC, it was created by artist Philipp Meir, trucked to the site in two pieces and then welded together. It now proudly stands 10 metres tall on the hill above the coastal walkway around Bomb Point and is the next stage in the Hobsonville Point Art Trail. After final safety inspections have been done, we understand there will be an opening soon and Kainga Ora will advise when it’s ready for everyone to enjoy.
