The committee has been working with Councillor Wayne Walker (Albany Ward) on ensuring that HPRS is formally on record in respect of the Auckland Council 10-year plan feedback. Of particular urgency is the ‘Wasp Hangar’ on Launch Road that has been designated to be an indoor sports / recreation facility. This has been part of the Masterplan for the area
and repeated in the Panuku Development “Unlock Hobsonville 2018 to 2021” documents. However, Panuku, Kainga Ora and the wider Auckland Council are stalling and may even intend to sell the land for more houses purely to raise revenue
This is obviously not what was intended and would NOT be in the interests of the community, so we are doing everything in our power to support Councillor Walker in this regard.
